When we first walked in Grace Coddington was sitting right in front of us! I knew we were in the right place, for where Grace sits, Anna sits. |

Im still in denial that i attended such an amazing show. Looking back, it all seems like a dream! When we first arrived to the location, we were greeted by a line of about 60 people. It was super hot out, but thankfully they were handing out SmartWaters to those in line. The view was already amazing, for we were looking out over the water and could see Jersey City from across the river. When we finally get to where we are going to stand, we snag a spot in the front row (Yay!). Immediately i notice that Grace Coddington, the Creative Director of Vogue, is sitting right in front of us. I knew we were in a good spot, for wherever Grace sits, Anna Wintour sits as well. Soon enough, Anna arrives with Vera Wang, and they sit right in front of us! I was freaking out, to say the least. Next thing i know Alexander Wang and Michael Kors sit near them as well. It was crazy being this close to people i have looked up to in the fashion industry for so long! Then Margot Robbie, who looked unbelievably beautiful in a custom white Givenchy suit, walked over to speak to Anna. She is one of my favorite actresses right now, so i was very excited when she sat down next to Anna as well. The fact that Gemma Ward soon walked in just topped the night off, for she has always been my favorite model and really got me interested in fashion in the first place. We were also lucky enough to be standing right behind Kim and Kayne, who arrived fashionably late to the show in head to toe custom Givenchy. We also see Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Liv & Steven Tyler, Jeremy Scott, Uma Thurman, Swizz Beats, Julia Roberts, Carine Roitfeld, Mario Testino, Irina Shayk, Soo Joo Park, Hamish Bowles, Lara Stone, Franca Sozzani, Suzy Menkes, Candice Swanepoel (who fell during her walk!), Kendall Jenner and Eva Chen. It was definitely a star studded event.
As for the fashion show itself, it was incredible. It took place on Pier 26, so we were entirely surrounded by water and had the most amazing view of the New York City skyline. The show was produced in collaboration with artist Marina Abramovic, who used recycled material to create the shows props and seating. The music, which was sensual and almost trance-like, came from several different religions and cultures. All of these things added to the amazing vibe that was occurring before and during the show. The clothes themselves were gorgeous, with lace, silk, and delicate chiffon being the reoccurring theme throughout the collection. Slouchy, loose and impeccably tailored suits also prevailed, for both men and women. One of my favorite looks, worn by one of my favorite models Magdalena Frackowiak, was a structured, cropped jacket over an amazing sheer top adorned with feathers. Slouchy black pants completed the look. A stunning black ball gown, worn by Joan Smalls, stole the show, along with the incredible sheer embroidered dresses worn by the models with face jewelry and masks. All in all, the collection was very wearable, and it had some amazing separates that will definitely be seen on every blogger come the spring.
The Givenchy SS '16 show was one i will never forget, and i am so thankful i was able to attend. Till next time,
