RL

Suede, fur, wool & lace, can one even ask for more? Ralph Lauren impressed yet again with his F/W '15 collection this morning, with look after look of western inspired perfection. If anyone knows me, they know i am far from a country girl, yet i would totally become one if my closet could be stocked full of RL :) The color palette was very neutral, with lots of sandy grey and creamy whites. The furs, which were actually shearling, were stunning. I find it amazing that RL doesn't use real fur (they look so authentic!), for as the shows program said, RL "has a long-standing commitment to not use fur products. All fur-like pieces featured are constructed of shearling". I gathered some RL inspired pieces below, that work for the cold weather now, and will work great for transitioning into spring! Xx

NYFW F/W '15 Favorites

And so it begins.... New York Fashion Week is full of fresh new ideas, trendy people, and designers willing to take risks. Thats why it has always been one of my favorite fashion week destinations. This year has been no different. I am so impressed with the shows this year that it was so hard to even choose a few favorites! But, while there were many to choose from, there were a few shows that stood out from the rest for me. Below are my favorite looks from my favorite shows of the season so far. Enjoy :)

ZIMMERRMANN
Probably my favorite show of the season so far. It was so hard to choose just 5 looks, for they were all so gorgeous! From the lace detail to the cutouts, every look was stunning. I love the turtle necks, and adore the high waisted pants. The colors of the show ranged from muted pastels to navy and pops of gold, which paired wonderfully together. Major 70s vibes going on here, which seems to be a major trend of the last few seasons.

JASON WU
No one does tailoring quite like Jason Wu. This season only reassures that claim, for its full of sleek and streamlined coats, dresses and pants. Wu also played with fur a lot this season, adding it to coats, vests and accessorizing with stoles. The color palette was earthy tones, with a pop of two red dresses in the line up. Jason Wu is obviously designing for a client who craves luxe, classic style, and i can only imagine that to be quite the glamorous woman.

THAKOON
This season, Thakoon really set himself apart from the rest. Full of rich textures and patterns, his collection was unique and gorgeous. Boxy silhouettes really stood out against the more flow dresses, providing a nice contrast. I love the pop of color from the red boots, and totally want to snuggle up in one of the fabulous wool coats.

BCBG MAX AZRIA
The husband-wife duo of BCBG Max Azria has truly outdone themselves this season. I mean, could a collection get more gorgeous? From the white fringe to the amazing embroidery and fur detailing, the bohemian vibes were very apparent. The chunky turtlenecks layered under dresses, vests and jackets are a look i want to copy immediately

ALTUZARRA
Impeccable. Thats the first word that comes to mind when i think of Altuzarra's show this season. The boots alone could create a stampede on Bergdorf's shoe floor. From the gorgeous lace to the luxe fur collars, every look on the runway was unique and flawless in it own way, yet the entire collection flowed together seamlessly. The structured jackets were stunning, and i loved that they were in pale shades of cream and baby blue. The flowing dresses were the star of the show, and they definitely have every right to be.

PRABAL GURUNG
If Prabal Gurung has anything to say about it, the slip dress is going to be the it dress of the season. Paired with boxy jackets and chunky turtlenecks, it totally takes on a new and chic look. The knockout of the collection was the amazing black embroidered coat with fur detailing. Stunning.

ALEXANDER WANG
Black is the new black. Thats how Alexander Wang feels, anyhow. Wang said, "Our customer wants black, so why not do an all black collection?". And thats exactly what he did. Embellishments gave black a whole new feel, and it was far from boring.  The silver detailing added some major movement to the all black looks, and the sliver fringe on the dresses was particularly stunning.

TBT

Its Thursday, which only means throwback time! Today I'm throwing it back to some of my all time favorite Vogue editorials (and one Vanity Fair editorial snuck in there as well). I love looking back at editorials, and some of them give me major déjà vu of being a young girl and actually reading the Vogue issues in which they were featured. I truly feel like nothing will ever beat the Vogue editorials of the mid 2000s. They were just so fabulous. I hope you all enjoy the throwback, and don't forget to comment! :)
